The dahlia season is starting. As the crop continues to grow, employees walk through the rows several times a week to remove side buds. This stimulates the growth of one main bud on each stem.

The clone trial of the Dahlia Breeders Association (DBA) at the location in De Kwakel includes twenty new dahlia varieties. At the selection garden in Limuru, Kenya, the DBA varieties are evaluated to see how they grow under equatorial conditions.
