At the Dahlia Breeders Association (DBA), our dahlia cuttings are safely growing in indoor tunnel greenhouses, well protected from the winter cold. The unrooted cuttings arrived from Kenya and were rooted and potted in the Netherlands.

In just a few weeks, they’ll be on their way to dahlia growers across Europe, where they continue to grow and bloom under local conditions. Later in the season, the flowers will be harvested as high-quality cut flowers.

DBA is a collaboration between breeder Agriom and Karel van Rijn. Together, we’re focused on developing new and improved dahlia varieties for the cut-flower market. What matters most to us? Strong variety characteristics, long vase life, and clean, disease-free starting material.
